DEAN ATCHINSON

Dean_edited.png

Dean started his motorcycle career in the early 70's when he worked on his first motorcycle with his dad on the dining room table at the age of 13. Passion turned into a career.  He continued learning his craft from his father who was a mechanic and had assembled new Triumphs in New Zealand in the 50's.

While working in motorcycle shops in New Zealand and overseas he was also involved in NZCMRR, BEARS, sidecar and road racing and various forms of British dirt bike racing. In New York his 'kiwi can do' attitude was recognised. According to the 'Best of New York' magazine in 1995 he was the New Yorker's motorcycle mechanic of choice. From the US, many container loads of bikes and parts made their way back to New Zealand.

Since returning to New Zealand in early 2000 he has been dealing with classic bikes from his workshop in Hikuai.
